Current server version 1.0.0.292
- The following update applies only to RT 4
systems based on BT878 chipset. Since this version
is released the extension board is not necessary
if you use 4 cameras. The video inputs 1,2,3,4 are
assigned to 1,2,3,4 camera views (in the previous
versions the cameras had to be connected to video
inputs 1,3,5 and 7 and you had to use the
extension board). This update enables you to use
next 4 video inputs and capture 30 or 25 fps per
each camera.

system during the first program run.

Current server version 1.0.0.285
- HTTP server
added; this feature will enable you to watch the
video using regular web browser. You can choose
from two different modes:
1) full version with a
multiserver connection feature written in JAVA (multiserver
feature means that you are able to connect to more
than one server using the same desktop) You can
freely resize the cameras' windows and move the
windows. The example of working JAVA client you
can see at our demo server : http://demo.alnetsystems.com/.
2) one camera version web client
written in JAVA. It is recommended to place this
applet somewhere on your website. The example of
this particular applet is here : http://demo.alnetsystems.com/single.htm
These both programs are written in JAVA as the
JAVA applets. They are required to be configured
by setting parameters in HTML pages. Now, after
installing the software the subfolder HTTP is
created. You will find 4 files there: kamery.jar,
kamerys.jar, index.htm, Single.htm. If you enable
the HTTP server in Network Settings of the VDR-S
the software will forward all request to port 80
(the default http port). The web browser will ask
for a file and will receive the index.htm by
default. All you have to do is to edit the
index.htm and/or single.htm files and change
default parameters for these applets. The
parameters you have to change are as follow (you
change the VALUE field in the quotation marks:
<PARAM NAME = "boxmessage" VALUE
="Loading Please Wait...">
(information before applet is loaded)
<param name="Server0Name"
value="AL-NET demo server"> (description
of the server)
<param name="Server0Address"
value="demo.alnetsystems.com"> (IP
address or DNS name)
<param name="Server0Port"
value="9000"> (port of the
server)
<param name="Server0Login"
value="demo"> (login of the user
that has the access to the server)
<param name="Server0Password"
value="demo"> (password)
The applets will work if you have JAVA RUNTIME
ENVIRONMENT (JRE2) installed. If you do not have
it installed the applet will detect this and will
try to download the JRE2 from Sun Microsystems
website. You have to let it do this or install it
from another source.

The manufacturer of the dongles had released new
driver. We decided to implement the new dongle
driver because it includes some major changes. In
the folder the VDR-S server was installed you have
to replace the file: novex32.dll.
You have to install new driver from: drivers.zip.
It is necessary in order new VDR-S applications to
work correctly. Future releases of installs and
updates will have alredy new driver built in, so
the described operation is necessary only if you
do the vdr-s.exe file replacement.

Current server version 1.0.0.259
- During the first server run the message
"You have no rights to use that. Access
denied" was displayed. This inconvenience was
corrected and program wom't diplay this message
again. This bug is the result of last changes made
to user privileges system.
Current client version 1.0.0.261

- The engine of creating video base was improved.
By default the folders for video base are created
on available hard disks, and 90% of free space is
reserved on C: disk, and 100% on other disks.
- The joystick activation button was added in Dome
settings. On some computers with Windows 2000
if no joystick was present and the joystick option
was activated by default that could cause
unpredictable effects. We added this button to
prevent you from that. Now, if you do not have
joystick connected, go to Dome settings and
click to deactivate joystick.
- After logging out, the log in form's fields are
empty. In previous versions the login field
contained the last user that logged in.

- dynamic Domain Name Service (D.N.S.);
the VDRS does not require you to have a static IP
address (which can add to the cost of your
internet connection ). If your ISP offers dynamic
IPs only , you can register for free your own
subdomain, by entering your desired server name in
the DNS registration box. Every time you start up
your server, it will automatically register/update
its dynamic IP address with our vdr-s.com domain
name server. This will enable your clients to
access your server at any time by simply entering
your servername.vdr-s.com in the address box.
Regardless of any change to your assigned IP
address. This process only involves your initial
input the first time you register your dynamic IP
with us. The rest is done automatically by Alnet
VDRS and our dedicated VDR-S.com server.
- program interface changed
- while installing the software you have to choose
TV system compatible with your cameras - NTSC or
PAL
- French and Spanish
language version
- archives engine improvement
Current client version 1.0.0.243
- now you can change the order of entries in the
address book by selecting the entry and moving it
using additional buttons up and down
- no need to enter brak the password in the
address book - you can do it at the moment of
connection is made.
- minimizing client application to the taskbar
breaks the data flow so your bandwidth is not
wasted then. Bringing the window back to its
original position causes automatically
reconnecting
- archives engine improvement

3/20/2003
Current server version 1.0.0.236
- In order to enhance the possibilities and
functionality of VDR-S system we had to modify the
way of the program first run. You will have to
enter new 10 digit serial number. It must be
entered only once as the program starts for the
first time.
- You will also have to enter this number if you
are updating your version if older than 1.0.0.236
but to do this you have to obtain new serial
number. It can be done by using the conversion
tool : http://www.alnetsystems.com/serialus.
Your old 24 chars serial number should be found on
the CDROM's box and in the text file that
accompanies the program installer file.
- If there was any problems with the conversion or
you couldn't find the old serial number you should
contact us and give the 4 digits program license
number that is on the dongle:
- Since this day install versions of the program
are available on the server to download
- We had released program version for Philip's
chipset video capture boards.
3/18/2003
Current server version 1.0.0.232
- there is only one file to replace for all
versions of VDR-S now : VDR-S.exe.
That makes it easy to update to the new program
version.
- added option for selecting hardware acceleration
support with the use of DirectX or selecting
software emulation. The setting is located in the Camera
settings window. We recommend setting
this option to hardware acceleration because the
picture has better quality then. If you do not see
any picture after turning on the server the most
probably your computer do not support hardware
acceleration and you have to set this option to
software emulation or replace the video graphic
card.
- we have also only one update file now : VDRS_UPDATE.exe.
3/11/2003
Current server version 1.0.0.230
